Oakwood Contractors was founded in 1982 in Schaumburg, Illinois by Paul Morck, Jr. With only five workers and nothing but a garage to work from, Paul set off to face his first challenge—proving that you don’t need a hundred men and a huge warehouse to provide quality craftsmanship at a reasonable price.

In an industry where many tools and techniques come standard, Paul made a commitment to differentiate his company by providing outstanding solution-driven customer service, a practice that earned Oakwood the respect and business of many local retailers, including Osco Drug.

In 1992, Oakwood branched out from its roots as a fixture contractor and began offering a more diverse range of services including remodeling, cabinet making and promotional rollouts. As the company became more successful, the workload grew, and so did the staff. By 1994, the company had tripled in size and moved to a new office/warehouse facility in East Dundee. Just two years later, Oakwood joined Jewel Foods as a preferred contractor as they became the newest Oakwood client, and the company continued on their path of controlled growth.

In 1997, Paul S. Morck stepped in as the new owner of Oakwood, vowing to continue the legacy of growth and success started by his father. He did just that, and by 2002, Oakwood was ready to move again. This time, the company moved to their new facility located in McHenry where it currently resides.

Today, Oakwood Contractors is a full-service General Contractor employing their own select crew of qualified union carpenters who are just as passionate about providing quality service as the man who started it all. And although they work from a warehouse 20 times the size of the original Oakwood establishment, the company still delivers on its promise to efficiently and cost-effectively recognize, evaluate, advise on and carry out, solutions.
